Brett A. Kier

Brett Kier is an Associate at Palmer & Barr’s Philadelphia office. His practice primarily focuses on the defense of clients in civil litigation involving automotive negligence and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims. Brett is recognized for his excellent research and writing skills and his ability to employ precise analysis and insight to tackle novel issues of law.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Kier acquired several years of experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation in New Jersey and Pennsylvania courts. His knowledge and understanding of both sides of a case give him a unique advantage evaluating claims and reaching the best possible outcomes for his clients.

Brett earned his law degree from Drexel University, where he was an associate editor of the Drexel Law Review. During law school, he also played an integral part in monitoring the Philadelphia Police Department’s stop-and-frisk policies while completing pro bono work with the American Civil Liberties Union.

Prior to studying law, Brett spent three years at a geotechnical engineering firm, where he provided corporate clients with recommendations for large and small construction projects. He also spent the first two years of his undergraduate studies in a challenging architecture program, which helped him to develop a variety of abstract ways to confront problem solving. Mr. Kier draws on that experience to provide a broad and dynamic perspective to the legal profession.

Outside of the courtroom, Brett enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and dogs at their home in South Jersey. He is a passionate Philadelphia sports fan and enjoys golfing, snowboarding, softball, hockey, and playing the guitar.
